Auckland

America's Cup Yachts

NZL41

Built and raced by Japan this vessel came second to Team New Zealand in the 1995 Louis Vuitton Challenge. NZL41 remains in almost the same configuration as when she was raced ensuring you get an authentic race experience, while minor alterations including hand rails ensure your comfort and safety.

The yacht has a keel bulb weighing 20 tonnes.

NZL68

Originally commissioned for German syndicate in 2003, Team New Zealand used her as a trial boat prior to their 2007 America's Cup campaign. NZL68 is also in virtually original race configuration, while minor alterations have been made to meet with maritime safety regulations.

The yacht has a keel bulb weighing 20 tonnes.

Lady Gay

Built as a gentleman's luxury launch in 1934 Lady Gay is a beautifully restored classic launch. With a fully enclosed cockpit guests can relax and unwind taking in the panoramic views from her comfortable seating. The spacious layout along with the addition of kitchen and bathroom facilities makes this vessel especially suited to exclusive charters.

Steinlager 2

Owned by the NZ Sailing Trust, available for charter by Explore

This kiwi legend with her iconic red hull is an ocean going maxi yacht with great pedigree. Famously skippered by the late Sir Peter Blake it won every leg on line and handicap in the Whitbread Ocean Race, a record that still stands today.

Steinlager 2 has recently been restored to her former glory and remains in original race configuration. This oceangoing maxi yacht offers once in a lifetime experiences to sail a legend, from overnight excursions to unique transfer options.

Lion New Zealand

This oceangoing maxi yacht has circumnavigated the globe with New Zealand's most famous yachtsman Sir Peter Blake at the helm. An excursion on this vessel will give your clients a taste of big yacht sailing with real wow factor. With the original race configuration intact her facilities can cater to anything from an overnight excursion to a half day sailing activity.

Discovery IV

Discovery IV is the second largest of our black and yellow powercat fleet with capacity for 100. This smaller vessel is perfect for more intimate numbers but retains the big boat feel with ample seating and spectator areas including side opening windows for great cabin viewing.

Discovery III

Discovery III is our purpose built dolphin swimming and viewing vessel with capacity for 55. The smaller capacity makes for a more intimate wildlife experience. Facilities include safe access to the water from the stern of the vessel, observation decks and side opening windows as well as hot showers for after your swim.

Sydney

'SPIRIT' America's Cup Yacht - AUS 21

Built for the 1992 America's Cup in San Diego, the yacht was raced by Spirit of Australia. She placed 6th in the Louis Vuitton Cup and then returned to Australia. Following minor alterations the yacht was put into commercial survey and began operating as a corporate charter vessel.

She underwent a full refit and mast replacement in early 2012 making her a very competitive rival to sister ship AUS40.

America's Cup Yacht - AUS 40

Originally FRA 40, she was built by the Challenge of the Antibes Yacht Club for the 1995 America's Cup in San Diego. It wasn't finished in time so did not race but was completed in 1998 and brought to New Zealand by the Swiss team FAST 2000 as a trial boat for the 2000 America's Cup in Auckland.

'Sail NZ' purchased the yacht following the 2000 Cup where it has been operating as NZL40 until recently providing daily sails and exclusive charters in Auckland. Over the last 10 years AUS 40 has completed more sailing hours than any other IACC yacht.

She was upgraded to NSW Maritime commercial survey standards and shipped to Sydney in November 2010.

Margaret Rintoul V - MR5

Custom built luxurious racing yacht designed by German Frers with performance cruising in mind. With her central boom sheeting and swept spreader rig, the yacht offers a spacious cockpit finished in teak from which she can easily be sailed by a small crew or raced by a team.

She has competed and placed in numerous regattas as well as completing over 20,000 miles having been to the Whitsundays on 5 occasions, Lord Howe Island twice and numerous passages up the NSW coast.

Hamilton Island

Reef Explorer

Reef Explorer is a 24m custom design dive and snorkel vessel available for day excursions throughout the Whitsunday Islands and the Outer Barrier Reef.
Capacity is up to 100 pax pending activity, for snorkelling and diving we generally limit numbers to 75.
With a cruising speed of 22 knots she provides a fast and comfortable ride, with a large dive platform at the rear of the vessel providing easy access to the water.

Pure Dive

Pure Dive is a 19m custom designed dive and snorkel vessel available for day excursions throughout the Whitsunday Islands, including Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet.

Capacity is 75 guests however we limit passenger numbers to 40 to ensure a boutique experience.

With a cruising speed of 20 knots, she will get you to your days destination in comfort and style.

MV Hamilton Star

 

The latest addition to the Explore Hamilton Island fleet, the 29 metre M.V Hamilton Star combines timeless elegance with modern design.

After cruising in Sydney Harbour for two years, the vessel has been customised and upgraded, befitting her new home in the Whitsundays. S.V. On the Edge

Purpose built 20m x 12m sailing catamaran was designed for day charters in the Whitsundays.
With a large front trampoline, ample seating and spacious decks she has capacity for 59 pax. On the Edge has the largest deck space per guest of any vessel operating from Hamilton Island and combines exhilarating sailing with a large stable platform.
