Full Day Dive the Great Barrier Reef from Shute Harbour

Tours are subject to weather and sea conditions, including wind, tides and underwater visibility. These conditions may affect the dive location and what you see underwater. You will be advised of conditions at the time of boarding.

• All certified divers are required to hold a minimum Open Water certification or equivalent and have dived within the last 12 months.
• All divers must produce their certification card or logbook and complete and return the pre-dive medical questionnaire at the time of booking. Failure to return the completed form before travel may result in a non-refundable cancellation.
• Guests aged 65 years and over will be required to obtain a dive medical before participating in any scuba diving activity.

Guided by our experienced dive team, we accommodate divers fresh from their open water course to seasoned pros. You are expected to maintain your own buoyancy and demonstrate responsible diving practices during the dive. Sites can experience strong currents and limited visibility based on environmental conditions.

Children must be 12 years and older to participate in diving. Divers aged 12 to 14 years old must dive with a certified parent or guardian.

Bring swimwear, a towel, hat, sunscreen, flat-soled shoes or thongs, and a jacket or warm clothes for after diving. You are welcome to bring a camera.

Please limit your baggage to one backpack or small, soft bag per couple where possible.

About 10 hours 45 minutes, including around 3 hours cruising each way and two guided dives at Bait Reef. If you're prone to seasickness, take seasickness medication before you board.

The visibility out at the reef varies day to day depending on weather and sea conditions. 

The ocean is wild, so we can’t guarantee any specific marine sightings. However, our full day Great Barrier Reef locations are home to a huge variety of hard and soft corals and hundreds of species of reef fish, including parrotfish, anemonefish (hello Nemo), batfish, butterflyfish and yellowtail fusiliers. You might also spot some of our Great Barrier Reef superstars: sharks, rays, turtles and Māori wrasse. Anything is possible on the reef.

Yes, coral bleaching has affected parts of the Great Barrier Reef, but the Whitsundays have not been as heavily impacted as some other areas, as indicated by our tourism weekly surveys. Impacts vary between reef locations, and bleached coral can recover if conditions improve.

Depending on weather and sea conditions, we may adjust our cruise route to ensure the most enjoyable experience on the day. Our priority is to provide the best possible conditions for snorkelling, diving and relaxing on the water.

Our alternate cruise: This is still a full day cruise for the same duration and includes visits to two inner reef locations with abundant marine life, as well as an added beach stopover.

Any changes to the planned route will be communicated prior to departure.
