Full Day Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef from Shute Harbour

Swimwear, a towel, hat, sunscreen, flat-soled shoes and a warm layer for the cruise home. Snorkelling equipment, wetsuits or stinger suits and flotation jackets are provided.

Shute Harbour Marina. The boat travels via Hamilton Island, collecting and dropping off guests in both directions.

About 10 hours 45 minutes, with roughly 3 hours cruising each way and at least 3.5 hours at Bait Reef. If you're prone to seasickness, take seasickness medication before you board.

Yes, if they can swim. It's recommended for ages 5 and over, and children must stay with a confident adult swimmer and be supervised at all times.

Yes. Our full-day tours visit Bait Reef on the Outer Great Barrier Reef, where you can snorkel or dive among coral formations and a wide variety of tropical marine life.

The visibility out at the reef varies day to day depending on weather and sea conditions. 

Both locations are packed with coral, colour and marine life. The fringing inner reef tends to be slightly more colourful due to the nature of the soft coral that grows around these areas. You will find numerous smaller reef-dwelling fish such as parrotfish, angelfish, batfish, damselfish and fusiliers. At the outer reef, you can expect to see a hard coral platform reef with impressive drop offs and our friendly resident giant trevallies, along with countless colourful reef fish. If you're lucky you might even get a visit from a turtle, ray or white tip reef shark while on one of our trips!

Yes. Coral bleaching has affected parts of the Great Barrier Reef, but the Whitsundays have not been as heavily impacted as some other areas. Impacts vary between reef locations, and bleached coral may recover if conditions improve.

Depending on weather and sea conditions, we may adjust our cruise route to ensure the most enjoyable experience on the day. Our priority is to provide the best possible conditions for snorkelling, diving and relaxing on the water.

Our alternate cruise: This is still a full day cruise for the same duration and includes visits to two inner reef locations with abundant marine life, as well as an added beach stopover.
